Obituary

Patricia M. (Doucet) Minihane, of Winchester, formerly of Somerville and Billerica, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 22nd, following a brave 16-month fight against pancreatic cancer, she was 66. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia she was the daughter of the late Benoit and Angela (Doucet) Doucet. Patricia was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late Peter J. Minihane. She was the devoted mother of Kirk S. Minihane and his wife Christine of Lexington, Adam L. Minihane and his wife Amy of Sudbury, Ryan P. Minihane and his wife Ann of Holden. Loving sister of Sandra Smith of Tewksbury and Michael Doucet and his wife Debbie of Somerville. Cherished Grandma of Cate, Harrison, Likely, Tyler, Juliana, and Emme. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.

Devoted to her family, Patricia is remembered for her generous and caring ways. While her boys were growing up in the Winchester Public School System, she was active with School Committee and other town elections. For several years, she also served as a teacher's aide at the McCall Middle School in Winchester. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Peter and her family, making frequent trips to Nova Scotia to visit family and friends and time spent at their home in Kennebunkport, Maine. Above all, her family, friends and especially her grandchildren brought her great joy.

Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, Tuesday morning, June 27th, at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours Monday, June 26th, 4-8 pm. Interment in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Patricia's name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave, Ste. 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 or www.pancan.org.
