Obituary

Of Somerville, passed away at 95 years young on December 7th, surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born June 21, 1927. She was a lifelong resident of Somerville. She predeceased by her husband, James F. Mahoney; her son, Robert P. Mahoney; and her son-in-law, Jack Lombard. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Lombard of Tewksbury; Kathleen Briand of Merrimack, NH; Diane Mahoney of East Bridgewater; Maureen Felts and her husband Robert of Salem, NH; Helen Falcone and her husband Giuseppe of Tewksbury.
Virginia was so proud of her grandchildren. She adored her 15 grandsons, John, Jim, Joe Lombard; Michael, Tony, Brandon and Jesse Racioppi; Rob, Tom, Michael, and Dennis Mahoney; Danny, Mike, and Nicholas Falcone; Michael Reznikow; and her only granddaughter, Rae Ann Felts. She was blessed with 11 great grandchildren. Virginia was the loving sister-in-law of John Murphy of Somerville and Regina
Ugolini of Tewksbury.
Virginia worked for the city of Somerville as a Para-professional for many years. She enjoyed her Friday night poker games with her girlfriends, her trips to Encore and especially her trips to Hampton Beach. Virginia was loved by such a large extended family of nieces, nephews and "adopted" grandchildren. She will be missed by her dear friends Pat Calder, Mary Moreira, Teresa Campbell & Edna Verderber.

A Funeral procession will held on Monday, December 12th from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, at 10:00AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford at 11:00AM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Calling Hours will be Sunday, December 11th from 2:00PM to 5:00PM.

Services will conclude with Virginia being laid to rest with her beloved husband at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Virginia's name to the American Cancer Society or to the Kidney Foundation.
