Burns, Valia A. (Beloste) - Of Somerville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday January 7, 2024 morning. She was 90.

Born in Cambridge to the late Ernesto and Cesira (Vecchia) Belloste. Valia's love for her family was endless. She would always boast with pride of how proud she was of her family, especially her grandchildren. Her dedication and love to all will be missed. She was a loving mother, grandmother, friend and "nana" to all whom she met.

Beloved wife of the late John F. Burns who passed away in 2019. Devoted mother of Cheryl Winter and her late husband Howie, of Somerville and Valerie Fitzpatrick and her husband John of Somerville. Cherished grandmother of John, Jessica, Keith, Sylvia, Thomas, Jenn, Sean, Bianca, Jillian, Paul and Alexis. Loving great grandmother of Callie, Maggie, Ava, Charlie, Gianna, Layla, and Cole.

A funeral procession will be held from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) on FRIDAY, January 12th at 9:00AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church 262 Washington St., Somerville at 10:00AM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Calling hours will be Thursday, January 11th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.

Services will conclude with burial at St. Paul Cemetery, Arlington.
