Thyra H. "Tootsie" Grant, of Medford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle. She was 86 years old.

Born in Wilton, New Hampshire, Tootsie spent her early years in Caribou, Maine, before eventually making her home in Medford, Massachusetts. She was the beloved daughter of the late Thyra (Stedt) Larson and Rudolph W. Larson.

Tootsie was the devoted wife of the late Philip A. Grant. She worked for many years as a medical secretary and was especially dedicated to her family. She was the cherished mother of Kristine Quatieri and her husband, Paul, of North Andover, and Philip W. Grant and his wife, Mikki, of Medford. She was the loving Nana of Shane, Sam, and Spencer Grant. She was the dear sister of William T. Larson and his wife, Carolyn, of Medford, and the late Rudolph Larson and his late wife, Peggy, of Wells, Maine. Tootsie is also survived by her loving extended family of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and many dear friends.

Tootsie found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren. She treasured her many trips to Maine and loved simple pleasures at home, including visits with loved ones, Hallmark movies, Judge Judy, and Court TV. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, generosity, and selfless spirit.

A private burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Philip.
