Tom was born in Leonardtown, MD. He attended Bladensburg High School and joined the U. S. Navy right after graduation. He served on the U.S.S. Wasp and was a proud Navy Veteran. During his time in the Navy, he visited the Charlestown Navy yard several times. There he met his beloved wife of 55 years, Donna.
Tom had several jobs in his lifetime. He always said he saved the best job for last. He retired from the City of Boston after 10 years of being a driver for the Senior Shuttle.
Tom was an avid sports fan of all the Boston teams, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics. He had a special love of football and you always knew where to find him on Sundays, sitting around the television with his family watching every game.
Tom was a pet lover and had many fish, cats and dogs in his lifetime. He had a special loving bond for over 20 years with his cat, Smokey, who would get up every morning at 5:00 am and have breakfast with him. If you visited his house after dinner, you would most assuredly find him napping in his recliner with Smokey sound asleep and purring on his chest.
Tom was fun loving, adventurous and the life of the party. He loved to tease and make people laugh, earning him the beloved title Papa Dumb Dumb from the Dragos, Hansens, Gages, Kemmetts, Moores and many more.
