Of Somerville, March 23, 2022, Thomas A. "Buzzy" Buckley, after a brief illness, beloved husband of 51 years to Mary Jane (Brundage) Buckley of Somerville. Devoted father of Kevin Buckley and wife Nelia of Everett and Laurie DellaPorta and husband Jay of Peabody. Cherished Papa of Casey Buckley, Emma Buckley, Shayla DellaPorta and JJ DellaPorta. Beloved brother of June Newman and husband David of Swampscott, Ann Affannato of NH, Ronald Farnell and wife Judith of FL, his twin sister Mary McCarthy of Bradford, Patrick Buckley and wife Kathleen of NH, Robert Buckley of Somerville, Linda Bonner of Malden, George Buckley and wife Sandra of NH, David Buckley and wife Elaine of Danvers, Kathleen Magliozzi and husband Ronald of Everett. He was pre-deceased by Alfred Farnell of NH, Francis F. Buckley of Bradford and Stephen "Steel" Buckley of Somerville. Brother-in-law of Frank Brundage and wife Joanne of Quincy and James Brundage and wife Joan of NH. Also survived by many, many nieces and nephews.
Buzzy had been retired from the City of Somerville after 43 years where he earned a citation for perfect attendance. He loved spending his summers at his "camp" with Mary Jane and his family. He was known as the "Mayor" of Country Shores Campground, Kingston, NH, where everyone had an open invitation to visit or stop by his site. Everyone knew him and talked to him, even campers he didn't know, knew him. He had an unbelievable sense of humor and always had a kind word for everyone. He loved to dance and was quite a dancer to watch.
Buzzy adored each one of his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of them all and attended baseball, softball, basketball, hockey games and cheerleading competitions. Buzzy and Mary Jane would travel to anywhere events were being held to support their grandchildren.
