Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Russ, at home, by natural causes. He was born on May 22, 1936, and died on December 23, 2023. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Shea) his Malden High School sweetheart. He was the oldest child of Albert F. Morgan and Dorothy (Doyle) Lord. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward F. Morgan previously of Dover, NH. He is survived by three brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

He attended UMass Lowell studying mechanical engineering. He was employed at Avco Everett Research Labs and worked on the left ventricle bypass system which evolved into an artificial heart program. The artificial heart program became the main focus of a break-away company, Abiomed of Danvers where he finished his career.

Russ was an avid golfer for many years and also became an avid sailor and owned his 24 foot sailboat docked in the Narragansett Bay area. He enjoyed many years of sailing the waters of the bay.
