Robert "Bob" Sewell Sr., 85, passed away on September 10, 2022 at Mass General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born in Fall River to the late Frank and Sarah Sewell.  He was the youngest and last surviving of eleven children.  Bob attended Durfee High School in Fall River and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force receiving an honorable discharge in 1957.

Bob went on to work in the Information Services field and held several different positions with his final position of Director of IS for New England Medical.

In 1962, Bob met the love of his life, Charlotte Murphy, whom he married in 1964, settling in Medford where they raised their nine children.

Bob was the devoted husband of 58 years to Charlotte Sewell and the loving and best Dad to Robert, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Weymouth, Arthur and his wife Heather of Malden, Charlotte Yarbrough and her husband Keith of Medford, Sarah O'Toole and her husband Robert of Malden, Richard and his wife Celia of Lunenburg, Thomas and his wife Janeth of St Augustine, FL, Caroline Glynn and her husband Sean of Arlington, Theresa Bertocchi and her husband Joseph of Haverhill and Angela Justice and her husband Christopher of Saugus.  Bob was also the cherished Grandpa to his 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who he loved so deeply and who in return loved him so much.

Bob truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, Friday night dinners with his wife, watching game shows while snacking on his popcorn, shopping trips and mostly loved our large family gatherings, especially for Sunday football. He was a man who radiated love to anyone he encountered, and we will miss him all the days of our lives.

A Funeral Procession will be held from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.)on Friday September 16, 2022 at 8:30AM.  Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford at 9:30AM.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 15 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM.

Interment will be held at a later date.
