Richard W. Coffin's Obituary
COFFIN, Richard (Dick) William - Of Somerville February 21, 2023 passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a very courageous, hard fought battle with his health. He was 84.
Beloved husband of the late Catherine A. (Squadrito) Coffin, with whom he shared almost 60 years of marriage until her passing in 2017. Catherine was the love of his life, his soulmate and he never got over her loss.
Devoted son of the late Harold and Lillian (Ensko) Coffin.
Loving father of Richard W. Coffin Jr. and his wife Helen of Millville, MA and Catherine Rose Vallas and her husband Theophilos of Plymouth, MA.
Dear brother of Lillian Margaret (Peggy) Nathan and her husband Douglas of Maryland and the late Harold (Bobby) Coffin and his wife Jeanne. He was also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends welcome to attend. Calling Hours at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Square) Somerville on Thursday, March 2 from 8:30-10:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Catherine of Genoa Church, Somerville at 11:00AM . Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, MA.
