Obituary

Rev. Harry Joseph Kaufman, 77, born on November 25, 1947 in Boston, MA recently passed away on March 2nd after a brief illness. He grew up in Boston, served his country in the armed forces and worked retail for many years at Jordan Marsh and Klines department stores.

After volunteering for several years at Holy Trinity German Church he then followed his true passion and became a priest on May 25, 2002. His most recent appointment was at Saint Catherine's in Somerville.

He is survived by his sister Linda Kaufman, and her husband Walter Neczypyr. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Terri Kaufman, Tara Crowley, Nicholas Neczypyr, Michael Neczypyr, Christina Johnson, several great nephews, a great niece, many cousins, friends, and parishioners. We will always remember Father Kaufman for his smiling face, quick wit, and endless search for a retail bargain.

Visiting hours will be held in Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin parish, 185 Summer St. Somerville, Ma, Thursday morning, March 7, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00.

Interment MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at 1:45PM. Please meet directly at the gate.
