Obituary

Rama Naresh Patel, an urgent surgical care physician of over
35 years, practiced in Los Angeles, California predominantly
caring for her patients at Kaiser Permanente Hospital,
Panorama City.
Rama is survived by her three daughters, Asha, Janki and
Amita, their husbands Aman, Roger and Rajit respectively and
eight beautiful grandchildren.
She is also survived by her three sisters Kanta, Urmila and Ansuya, as well as, her
brother-in-law, Navin, his wife Ansuya and their extended families.
She is predeceased by her adoring husband of 45 years, Naresh Patel.
Rama was born on February 26, 1942 in Dar Es Salam,
Tanzania to parents Gopalbhai and Valiben Patel.
She studied pre-medicine at Jai Hind College and attended medical school at
Grand Medical College in Mumbai, India, graduating in 1966.
Rama met and married her husband Naresh in 1966 and
immigrated to the United States in September 1967.
They eventually settled in Northridge, California.
Rama and Naresh welcomed their three daughters between 1969 and 1979.
Rama Naresh Patel was a loving wife and mother, diligent
doctor and a truly cherished member of her family and community.
Her strong character, deeply rooted values and
spirituality, developed in her youth, continue to be reflected in
the close-knit family she fostered and the impact she made on
those she loved. Ramaben enjoyed life, traveling the world,
welcoming many into her home and taking a deep interest in
the arts and education. Ever the steadfast confidant, her
unwavering support and the heartfelt confidence that she felt
for all those she loved gave us our strength, this we will carry
with us always.
Visiting hours for Rama, will be held Monday, September 26, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00, in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville.
Funeral Service will begin Tuesday morning at 9:30.
