Patricia (Coronella) Almeida, age 67, a lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away peacefully at her home with her children by her side on September 14, 2024.

Patty is the daughter of the late "Mayor of Hancock St" William S. Coronella and his wife Alma Arlene 'Pat' (Fuller) Coronella. Patty is the beloved mother of Derek and Jessica Almeida and their partners Brynne Quinlan and Joseph Botsch. The youngest of three, she is survived by her siblings Stephen Coronella and Ann Sheehan and nieces and nephew Willow Coronella, Kelly Leary, and Jon Sheehan. Also survived by many loving friends.

Patty spent her career working as a valued Legal Secretary and Office Administrator for Landman, Akashian, and Macklow. But Patty's life's work was raising her children and taking care of her family.

Patty was a generous woman who lived her life with compassion, humor, and fierce devotion to her children, friends, and family. She loved her neighbors on Hancock St and frequently opened her home to her children's friends for extended stays, summers, and visits. Patty held many friendships dating back to her youth, and each year she looked forward to the annual Pratti BBQ. Her self-described "happy place" was with her best friend Diane Sullivan at her family cottage in Wareham, which she visited this summer. She also loved being Auntie Patty to Brianne, Kevin, and Ryan Sullivan. Patty was an animal lover, and after her companion Bear passed, she welcomed visits from Derek and Brynne's cat Mimi Muffins.

The last year of Patty's life was spent celebrating holidays with her children, hosting the best Porchfest bands on her front steps, reading great books, and enjoying time spent laughing and telling stories with her friends and family.

Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Friday, September 20th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM with Words of Remembrance beginning at 6:30PM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Root , the nonprofit organization where her son works. Root provides youth culinary training programs and food insecurity support on the North Shore of Massachusetts.
