Cappello, Norman C. – Of Moody, Maine formerly of Somerville and Medford passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024. He was 89.
Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Verdas (Altman) Cappello. Norman was a family man who loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Seeing their love and laughter with one another brought joy and happiness to his life. Normans dedication to providing for his family was one of his most proudful moments in his life. He loved his family immensely. He was a skilled carpenter for many years.
Beloved father of Karen Medeiros and her husband Paul of Tewksbury, Charlie Cappello and Danielle Dalton of Newburyport, Kim Gouveia and her husband Richard of Tewksbury, Doug Cappello and Christine Coupe Juergens of Pelham, NH, Ricky Cappello and his wife Denise of Norton and the late Virginia Cappello. Cherished grandfather of Tiffany Cappello, Ashley, Arianna and Anthony Medeiros, Jackson and Gavin Cappello, Olivia and Sophia Gouveia, Lisa Cappello, Kristina Cappello, Gabrielle Hunt, David, Mitchell and Dana Cappello. Great-grandfather of Virginia Cappello and Chase Hunt. Loving and longtime companion of Helen Cousins. Dear brother of Sally Howley of Virginia Beach, VA and the late Jimmy Cappello and Louise Brodeur. Former husband and dear friend of the late Anna M. Cappello. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral procession will be held from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) on FRIDAY, April 12th at 9:00AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Catherine Church, 179 Summer St., Somerville at 10:00AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Calling hours will be held on THURSDAY, from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
