Obituary

Norman J. Amirault, 94, of Winthrop, formerly of Medford, peacefully sailed away into the sunset on May 21st.  Norman was the beloved husband of 71 years to the late Angela (Catalano) Amirault and is survived by his devoted sons Robert (Carol) of Plymouth, MA and Ronald (Patricia) of Warwick, RI and was "Uncle Dad" to his niece, Carol Day.  He was the fun Papa to his grandchildren Justin and Ryan Amirault, Jillian McBain, David and Andrew Amirault, Caitlin Swanson and great grandchildren Vivian, Colette, John, Amelia, Emily, Alexandra, Levi and Evan.  Norman was the son of the late Peter and Frances Amirault and older brother of the late Wilfred, John and David Amirault.

Norman served in the U.S. Naval Reserves as an aircraft mechanic and upon his discharge worked as a hydraulic mechanic known as "Norman the Foreman" for Dynex Rivet until his retirement.  A skilled sailor, he was a lifetime member of the Palmer's Cove Yacht Club in Salem, MA where he kept his 33 foot sailboat, Winter's Dream.

Funeral arrangements by George L. Doherty Funeral Service, 855 Broadway, Somerville, MA.  Calling hours Friday, May 31st from 9-11am.  A prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 11am.  Services will conclude with entombment at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston
