SERVICE UPDATE ON CALLING HOURS!

Mercegrace Norrinvil – Of Everett, formerly of Haiti, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at 95 years old.
Born and raised in Saint March, Haiti, she was the beloved daughter of the late Dorvil Norrinvil and Doremise Dortilus.

Beloved mother of Ulrick Ropissard, Rose-Andre Mortel, Roger Mortel,  Ritha Mortel, and Pricien Mortel. Cherished grandmother of 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, 3 late brothers and sister, 6 late cousins, 1 late grandchild. She is also lovingly survived by her sons- and daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family in both Haiti and Canada.

A true pioneer woman of her time, Mercegrace was hardworking and determined. She owned and operated her own successful business for many years. When not working, she could often be found in the kitchen preparing delicious meals for her family, cooking being one of her greatest joys and the way she expressed her love. Above all, her family was her world. She was deeply devoted to her faith and could be found each week sitting in a pew at church.

Mercegrace will be remembered for her strength, kindness, deep faith, and the love she shared with all who knew her.

Beloved mother of Ulick Lovisssard, Rost Mortel, Roger Mortel and Ritha Mortel. She was the cherished and loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is also lovingly survived by her son and daughter in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family members both in Haiti and in Canada.

Calling Hours will be held in the George L Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq) Somerville on Friday, April 17th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18th in the Holy Bible Baptist Church 64 College Ave Somerville at 9:00AM. Relatives and friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 8:00AM to 9:00AM.

Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
