Nye, Marie F. ( Kivlehan) -- Of Somerville, and Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Cambridge, Middleton & Lynn passed away on October 27, 2022 at the age of 82.

Marie was a woman who always put her family first. Her love and dedication to her late husband and children was endless, and even more powerful to her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You could always find Marie caring for, playing games with, or taking her grandchildren to a park and then for an ice cream. If someone told her she was spoiling her grandchildren too much, she would simply say "that's what grandchildren are for."  Her family was her world. While living in Middleton and then Lynn, she would host summer cookouts in their backyard for family and friends.  Whenever there was family or friends visiting from out of state, she gave them a place to stay at her family home.  Whenever her husband or one of the children had a birthday, graduation, or some type of accomplishment she would start planning a party for the event.  She would go all out making sure it was memorable and with plenty of food for all. There would even be a DJ for dancing and to play some Elvis Presley songs.  Anyone that knew Marie knows how much she loved Elvis.  All the guests would make sure to get a taste of her famous eggplant parm, and she made sure there was plenty to go around.  When she wasn't spoiling the grandchildren, you could find Marie spoiling herself. She loved to shop. Whether it was for herself or for the family, she would always come home with bags of items to share. Marie will be missed by her beloved family, but now she is dancing a waltz in heaven with her beloved husband George Once again.

Beloved wife of the late George O. Nye Sr.. Devoted mother of Edith Nye-Manzi and her late husband Kenneth, George O. Nye Jr. and his wife Bonnie of FL, Dennis Nye and his husband Juan Carlos Hernandez of CA and Denise Desmond and her husband Timothy Desmond, III of Beverly. Loving grandmother of Danielle Mendonca, Deanna Mendonca, Derek Mendonca, Randy Nye, Ryan Nye, Shamus Desmond and Garrett Desmond. Cherished great-grandmother of Isabel Citro, Abigail Citro, Declan Nye, Jaelynn Nye, Dylan Mendonca, Richard Croft, Nevaeh Mendonca, and Amelia McCann. Sister of 13 siblings. Also survived by, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, along with many friends.

Calling Hours will be Friday, November 4 at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. A prayer service will be conducted in the funeral home at 6:30PM.
