Maria L. (Botelho) Raposo, of Somerville, passed away on September 26, 2023, she was 79. Born in Candelaria, Portugal she was the daughter of Maria da Estrela Botelho and Manuel Alves Botelho. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose C. Raposo, they were married on November 13, 1966 in Sao Pedro, Portugal.

Maria was a retired employee of Harvard University were she served as a union steward for the dining services workers.

She leaves behind, her son Jóse Raposo Jr. her daughter, Sandra Raposo- Thornhill and 3 grandchildren, Van, Ca'Sandra and Samantha. Her daughter-in-law,  Gina Raposo. Her sister's and brother, Maria Sousa, Etelvina Dias and brother, Manuel Vital. Her dear brother-in-law, Florentin Dias. Her dearest friend of 30 years, Ana Braga and husband John Braga.
Many nieces, nephews and cousins, family and friends who will forever be in her heart.
