Margaret F. (Breen) Benson, a longtime resident of Somerville passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023, she was 92. Born and raised in Churchtown, Cooraclare, Ireland she was one of six children born to Margaret (Kelly) and Michael Breen. She was the beloved wife of the late Chester Benson. Margaret was devoted to raising her family and enjoyed her work as a home health aide caring for her patients. In retirement, she frequently traveled back to Ireland with her husband to visit family.

She was the devoted mother of Loretta Pfeffer and her husband Clifford of Pennsylvania, Mary Harriman and her husband John of Tewksbury, Christopher Benson of Somerville and Kathleen Balis of Derry, NH. Cherished Nana of Michael Harriman, Meghan Caliendo, Matthew Harriman, Erin Flynn and her husband Britton, Kyle Pfeffer and his wife Lynn, Kayla Houston and her husband Joshua and John Balis. Great Nana of Charlotte Harper Harriman, Colton Caliendo, Elliana and Lillia Houston, Charlotte and Tripp Flynn.

Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Wednesday morning, June 21st from 9AM to 10:30AM, followed by a Prayer service at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend.

Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
