Obituary

Louise Marie Casparriello, a passionate mother, sister and "nonnie" passed away on Christmas Day after celebrating one last cherished Christmas Eve with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at her home on Clarendon Ave in Somerville. Born on August 24,1931 in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Stella Conversano and Donato Puopolo.

Louise was predeceased by her loving husband Salvatore Casparriello, siblings Rocco Puopolo, Andrew Puopolo, and Phyllis Collura.

Raising a family and seeing it grow, was the greatest joy of her life. She leaves behind 6 children, 16 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.  She was a devoted mother to Erna Connors and her husband Billy of Shirley, Stella Arenz and her husband Fred of Buzzards Bay, Kathy Dodd and her husband Russell of Billerica, Joseph Casparriello and his wife Carrie of Melrose, Danny Casparriello and his wife Amanda of Somerville, and Peter Casparriello and his wife Lisa of Westborough.

She was beloved "nonnie" to Erin, Alison, Corey, Rebecca, Daniel, Kara, Ricky, Jaime, Michael, Anthony, John, Domenic, William, Bella, Lou and Salvie.  As well as great-grandmother to Tatum, Gus, Eloise, Josie, Vinny, Gabby and Lucy. She also leaves behind her brother Dr. Anthony Puopolo and his wife Donna, along with many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws (John and Kathy Caspariello, Mary Cappuccio, and Helen Puopolo) and friends.

Born in Boston's North End, Louise cherished the memories of growing up in her family's Endicott Street home with her mother and father and her sister and brothers. Following her graduation from Girl's High School in Boston, Louise found her true calling in life when she met her beloved, late husband of 68 years, Salvatore Caspariello and they started their family. Together they loved spending time with family, traveling with friends and bringing loved ones together in their vacation home of 17 years in Bristol, NH at Newfound Lake.

Louise had a kind word for everyone she met, always opening her heart and her home to anyone in need throughout the years. Bringing together people in their home of 65 plus years on Clarendon Ave was one of Louise's greatest joys in life. She continually spoiled her 16 grandchildren and had a hand in raising each and every one of them, never missing a birthday party, school event or sports game.

Louise was a dedicated catholic and found great comfort in her faith and passed those values of gratitude, compassion, and family to her children and grandchildren. At the age of 8, Louise had a near death experience after complications from appendicitis. She proudly shared the story of her mother praying to St. Anthony to save her and in return her mother marched in St. Anthony's feast barefoot for many years in gratitude.

Louise leaves behind an ever-growing legacy of positivity, love, family and beauty and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
