Kevin J. Mahoney, of Malden, passed away surrounded by his family on October 11, 2023, following a long battle against COPD, he was 59. Born in Cambridge, Kevin is the son of Edward C. Mahoney Sr. and his wife Laura of West Roxbury and the late Rosemarie (Francis) Mahoney.

He is he beloved husband of Helen (Farinato) Mahoney of Malden and the devoted father of Kevin J. Mahoney, Jr. and his wife Tracey of Woburn, Caitlyn Mahoney of Medford, Ryan Mahoney of Malden, and stepfather of Lauren King of Medford. Cherished grandfather of Harley, Mason, and Natalie. Dear brother of Edward C. Mahoney, Jr and his wife Debbie of Somerville, Christopher Mahoney and his wife Linda of Belmont, Robyn Whalen and her husband Jay of Tewksbury, Sean Mahoney and his wife Michelle of Somerville and Tracey Hanscom and her husband Mark of Tewksbury. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

In earlier years, Kevin worked hard as a laborer in the construction field and as a cab driver. He is remembered as the comedian in family, always playing jokes. He was a collector of comic books, enjoyed bowling and was a devoted Boston sports fan, above all Kevin enjoyed time spent with his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Sunday, October 22nd from 2:00PM – 5:00PM with a prayer service beginning at 4:30PM.

Interment will be private.
