Kevin J. O'Brien of Medford, Massachusetts, passed away on July 12, 2024. He was born on January 15, 1958, in Somerville, Massachusetts, to Elizabeth A. (Gallivan) and William F. O'Brien Sr. Kevin was a lifelong Boston sports fan with an unwavering passion for his hometown teams. Whether it was cheering on the Red Sox at Fenway Park, celebrating the Patriots' victories, or following the Bruins and Celtics through their seasons, Kevin's enthusiasm was contagious. His knowledge of the teams, their histories, and the players was unmatched, and his dedication never wavered, even in the toughest seasons. Kevin's love for Boston sports was a cornerstone of his identity, bringing joy and camaraderie to all who knew him.

Kevin is survived by his brother William F. O'Brien Jr. and his wife Susan of Amherst, NH; nieces Kelly Snyder (Owen) of Dedham, MA, Wendy O'Brien (Scott) of Newark, NY, Christine King (Tom) of Scituate, MA, and Megan O'Brien of Brambleton, VA; nephew Gene O'Brien Jr. (Katrena) of Fresno, CA; and countless grandnieces and grandnephews. He also leaves behind his ex-wife Beth Call Nelson of Peabody, MA, along with two sons and a granddaughter. Kevin is predeceased by his parents and his brother Eugene M. O'Brien Sr. of Fresno, CA.

In remembrance of Kevin, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
