Lynch, Kathleen M. (Heffernan)- A lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 17, 2022. She was 75.
Born in Boston and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Owen and Catherine (Sheehy) Heffernan. Kathleen graduated from St. Joseph's High School and was a lifelong communicant at St. Ann's church. Kathleen worked for many years as a home health aide and then with the Somerville Public Schools as a lunch aide in her retirement.
She loved to keep up with the news and the stock market and spend time with her family and friends, especially at Starbucks. She also enjoyed daily walks with friends around her Magoun Square neighborhood. She was a member of the "Pond Ladies," a weekly Rosary group that helped nourish her deep faith and buoyed her spirits during her illness.
She was the beloved wife of the late Brendan Lynch. The devoted mother of Eileen Bonner and her husband Jeff of Beverly, Mary Kate Kelley of Winchester, and Brendan Lynch and his wife Patty of Belmont. Cherished grandmother of Finn, Nora, Brendan "Ben" and Abby. Loving sister of Bridget Haggerty, Margaret Farrell and the late James Heffernan.
Kathleen was loved by many and will be sorely missed
Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Monday July 25th at 9:00AM. Followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville at 10:00.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be Sunday July 24th from 2:00PM to 5:00PM.
