Obituary

CLARK, Joseph F. - Of Somerville passed away on February 13, 2023 at the age of 94.

Born in Somerville, he was the loving son of the late John and Mary Clark.  Joseph was the brother of the later Evelyn Whelan and her husband John, Jack Clark and his wife Patricia, the late Robert Clark and his wife Rita, and the late Edward Clark and his wife Rose Marie. Cherished "Uncle Joe" to 3 nieces, 7 nephews, and several grand-nieces and nephews.

In his youth, Joseph proudly served his country for 5 years as a Corporal in the US Marine Corps.  Upon his return, he continued to serve his beloved community as a firefighter with the Somerville Fire Department for 32 years.

Joe was a kid at heart.  He loved life, family and his Boston sports teams.  A visit with Joe meant a long discussion about the current Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics.

A Funeral Procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) on Tuesday, February 21st at 9:00am. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 262 Washington Street, Somerville, MA 02143 at 10:00am.

Calling Hours will be Monday February 20th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Services will conclude with Joseph being laid to rest at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
