John "Fred" O'Meara, 83 of Reading, MA formerly of Belmont, MA  passed away on June 27, 2023.

He was born in Somerville to the late John O'Meara and Alice (Engle).

Fred was married for 56 years to his loving wife  Joan K. O'Meara who passed away in 2020 and they were lucky to travel the world during these years.

Fred touched many youth in Somerville while he was an educator and then principal for 38 years. You could hear his voice throughout the halls singing or speaking to his students and staff.

Fred was an amazing father to his three children, the late John O'Meara and his wife Robin, Kathleen and Bruce Brewer and Maureen and Rick Robichaux and his five grandchildren Ashley, Matthew, Sean, Nicolas and CJ;his predeceased brother, Daniel and wife Joan and Cathleen and predeceased brother-in-law, Alfred Camuso.

Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, Friday morning at 8 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Raphael Church, Medford at 9:30am. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Thursday, 4:00 - 7:00. Interment Highland Meadow Cemetery, Belmont.
