Jane T. (Pagliuca) deGroof, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025 at the age of 76.

Born in Medford, Jane was the daughter of the late Guy F. and Sarah E. (Doyle) Pagliuca. Shy and humble, she was raised in a three family home in a close knit community in Sommerville surrounded by her many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jane, who dreamed from childhood of becoming a nurse, attended the Massachusetts General Hospital Nursing School. She spent her career first in psychiatric nursing and then for many years in elder care at the Newfield House where she developed life long friendships.  In her work as in her life, she was endlessly patient, caring and kind.

Outside of work, Jane loved mystery novels, British police procedurals, the Beatles and Picasso.  She fondly remembered living in New York City as a newlywed, and in retirement she loved spending time with her "Crafty Ladies" and doted on her grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her husband of 55 years Peter, her daughter Diana, her son Richard, her son in law Joshua, her brother Guy and his wife Jean, and her sister in law Rita and her husband Al, as well as her grandchildren, many loving friends and extended family members.

Callings hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House SQ.) Somerville, on Tuesday, May 27th from 9:30AM to 11:30AM.

A prayer service will be held in the Chapel at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett at 12:00PM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
