Crotty, George P. Jr.- Of Somerville, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023. He was 71 years young.

George was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts on November 19, 1951. George was a retired Somerville police officer. George was a devoted coach and community leader who spent many hours coaching youth of the Middlesex Magic AAU teams and Special Olympics with his grandson, Tyler. He also worked as a high school and college football referee.

George was the beloved son of the late Evelyn and George Philip Crotty, Sr. He is survived by his children, George Philip Crotty, III, and Kerry Crotty. His grandchildren, Tyler, Caden, and Kali; his five sisters, Claire (Bob) Thompson, Phyllis Morrison, Alyce Crotty, Evelyn Crotty, and Mari (Tom) Mathis; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Kathi Crotty; his brothers Michael, Kevin, and David Crotty; Brother-in-law, Leo Morrison; and nephew Michael Morrison.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, February 8 ^th at Doherty's Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Funeral Procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) on Thursday, February 9th at 10:30AM. Followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford at 11:30AM.
