Franklin Dalembert, a beacon of strength and service within the Haitian community and beyond, passed away on April 21, 2024, in Malden, Massachusetts, just days before his 66th birthday. Born in Limbe, Haiti, on April 26, 1958, Franklin's life was marked by a profound dedication to education, community development, and advocacy for immigrant rights.

Franklin's academic journey was a testament to his unwavering commitment to learning and growth. He pursued higher education in his homeland and abroad, earning a Baccalaureate in Linguistic Science from the University of Linguistics in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He later expanded his knowledge at institutions such as the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and Boston University.

Throughout his esteemed career, Franklin served in various capacities aimed at uplifting and empowering the Haitian community. He worked tirelessly as the Executive Director of the Haitian Coalition of Somerville, where his leadership and vision guided the organization to new heights. Franklin's advocacy extended beyond borders as he instrumentalized initiatives addressing immigrant health, literacy, and community development.

At IFSI (Immigrant Family Services Institute), Franklin was the Assistant Executive Director, continuing his mission of supporting and empowering immigrant communities. His role was not just administrative but embodied a deep commitment to fostering meaningful connections and partnerships that furthered the organization's mission.

Franklin's impact reverberated far beyond his professional endeavors. He was a pillar of strength and compassion, known for serving others and his infectious enthusiasm for life. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the communities he transformed through his tireless efforts.

Franklin Dalembert leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to the betterment of others. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of over 37 years, Evelyne Dalembert, and his cherished daughters, Francesca and Vanessa Dalembert. He is also survived by his siblings, Jacqueline, Magalie, Dario, Guerlain, Shirley, and Yanick, whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
