Ernante Grandoit – Of Somerville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 5, 2026. She was 67 years old.
Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Ernante was the loving daughter of Hiram and Genevieve (Jean Baptiste) Grandoit.
Ernante found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. She had a true passion for cooking and believed that preparing a meal was one of the purest ways to express her love. Nothing made her happier than seeing family and friends gathered around the table, sharing laughter and enjoying one of her delicious homemade meals. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, comfort, and togetherness, where everyone always felt welcome.
She was also an exceptionally talented knitter whose patience and creativity were reflected in every piece she made. Whether she was knitting a cozy scarf, a beautiful blanket, or another thoughtful handmade gift, each stitch was crafted with remarkable attention to detail and made with love. Those fortunate enough to receive one of her creations will forever cherish the time and care she poured into every project.
In her quieter moments, Ernante enjoyed coloring, especially intricate pictures of flowers. She was drawn to their beauty and the vibrant colors they offered, finding peace and happiness as each page came to life. Flowers always brought a smile to her face and reflected the brightness and warmth she shared with everyone around her
Beloved mother of Vladimir Benoit and Heude Bouche. Devoted grandmother of Denzel Benoit, Sonya Benoit and Aalyia Bouche. Cherished former wife of Jean Benoit. Also survived by many dear friends and extended family members.
