Donahue, Ellenmarie-Of Methuen, passed away on Wednesday, April 19th, 2023 surrounded by her family at home. She was 64 years young.
Born and raised in Somerville. She was the daughter of the late Francis D. and Rita F (Barnes) Dedrick. Ellen loved to travel anywhere she could with her beloved husband. When it was warm enough for a beach day, you could find her laying in the sun with her toes in the sand watching the waves crash against the shore. During summer days you would also find her floating and splashing in the pool with her grandchildren. When she was in Seabrook, she would always make sure to stop at Ceals Clam Stand for some fried claims with small bellies. It was a guilty pleasure of hers that she could not resist. When she wasn't poolside or at the beach, she was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren making memories that would last a lifetime. She loved hosting family parties and ending the night with the family around the dining room table playing card games and enjoying lots of laughter with everyone. Her smile and laughter were contagious to anyone around her. She could make anyone smile. Ellen left a positive impact during her time on this planet and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was the beloved wife of 43 years to Kevin J Donahue. Beloved mother of Nicole Desmarais and her husband George and Kelley Shea and her husband Christopher. She was the loving grandmother of Jack and Emily Desmarais. Cherished sister of Carol A. Correia and her husband Eddie, Michael F. Dedrick and his wife Shirley, and Thomas W. Dedrick and his wife Nancy. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
