Eleanor M.
(Boeri) Dunne
Dec 22, 1923 — Nov 22, 2025
Eleanor M. (Boeri) Dunne – Of Somerville, passed away peacefully at the remarkable age of 101.
Born in Cambridge and raised and educated in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Genoveffa (Giovanani) Boeri. Eleanor was a woman of many talents. She could knit and sew just about anything, and if someone was preparing for a wedding or special occasion, they often turned to her for one of her beautiful floral arrangements. She loved the holidays, and she enjoyed crafting for them even more. Her creativity came to life through her stunning pinecone wreaths and the Halloween costumes she made that people requested them year after year. She was a resident of the Little Sisters of the Poor on Highland Ave in Somerville for over 25 years. In this time she made many friends, both staff and residents, who became her second family.
Eleanor was also an avid gardener. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished being a mother, not only to her own children but to many others she cared for throughout her life. Being a mom was the role she was most proud of, and she lived it wholeheartedly.
Beloved wife of the late William J. Dunne. Devoted mother of Lynne Ann Dunne of NH, Brian Dunne of Winthrop and the late Eileen F. Dunne of Somerville. Cherished grandmother of Victoria Dunne and her husband Caspar Tudor, Breanna (Dunne) Basile and husband Salvatore, and Matthew Madden and wife Jaime. Loving great grandmother of Tyler, Katelyn, Madyson, Layla and Violet. Dear sister of Eileen Martino, and the late Victor Boeri, Mary Bonaccorso, John Boeri, Francis Durante, Louis Boeri and her twin sister who died in infancy Annie Boeri. Also lovingly survived by her bonus daughter Liz Nola and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
