Edelyne (Normil) Degand – Of Medford, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. She was 52 years old.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Edelyne was the cherished daughter of Marie Lucienne Gelin and Paul Elie Normil. A woman of unwavering faith, Edelyne's life was a testament to devotion, compassion, and strength. She found deep joy and purpose within her church community, where she not only worshipped but also uplifted others through her beautiful voice, singing each week during Sunday services.
Edelyne was known for her generosity of spirit and loving nature. She had a heart for helping others—family, friends, and even strangers knew they could count on her in times of need. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or a heartfelt prayer, Edelyne was always there.
Above all, Edelyne was devoted to her family. Her face would light up at the sight of her children, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with them. Her love was constant, her presence comforting, and her smile unforgettable.
Beloved wife of 23 years to Frantzeau.
Devoted mother of Eden, Leyla, Keren and Jeremiah.

Calling Hours will be held in the Holy Bible Baptist Church, 64 College Ave Somerville on Saturday July 19th from 7:30AM to 9:00PM. Followed by a funeral service at 9:00AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
