O'Meara, Doris E. (McAnneny) – Of Medford, and Wells Beach, ME, formerly of Somerville and Falmouth, passed away peacefully with her loving daughter and son in law by her side, after a long courageous battle with heart disease.
She was the beloved wife of the late Terrence E. O'Meara.
Cherished mother of Nancy C. Pino and her husband John P. Pino of Medford. Daughter of the late John H. and Helen F. (Donovan) McAnneny.
The dear sister of the late Joseph McAnneny (Lorretta) of CT, Helen Connolly (John) and Lawrence McAnneny (Agnes) of Somerville, John McAnneny (Evelyn) of Medford, Paul McAnneny (Denise) of Florida, Claire Croken (Joseph) of Malden, Grace McAnneny of Malden and the cherished sister of Kevin McAnneny (Linda) of Brockton.
Doris is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews whom she loved with all her heart. She is survived by many friends, especially her friends from the East Somerville Community School, Wells Beach, and her cherished lifelong friends from Boston State, Betty Molloy and Ann Clare Kenneally, the late Ann Galvin, and Pauline Hurley.
Doris was a proud retired educator for Somerville Public Schools for over forty years. In those forty plus years, she touched the lives of many children in the City of Somerville. She enjoyed many summers on the Cape in Falmouth, as well as Wells Beach, ME with her family and friends.
A funeral procession will be held from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Wednesday, August 2nd at 9:00AM. Followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church 64 Warner St., Medford at 10:00AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doris' name to the MSPCA of Boston 350 South Huntington Ave Boston, MA 02130
