David
Ferrara
Sep 28, 1974 — Jan 21, 2025
David Ferrara, originally of Somerville, passed away on January 21, 2025, after a brief but courageous illness, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the proud father to Alexis Ferrara, Anthony Ferrara, Kaitlin Lott (Brounley), and Emily Strittmatter, and grandfather to his five grandchildren, Layla, Shaylyn, Colton, Tripp, and Addie. David was the beloved son of Janice (Wall) Ferrara and the late Anthony "Tony" Ferrara, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond that shaped his life. He is survived by his brother Thomas Ferrara, his sister Theresa (Ferrara) Sciarappa and her husband, Lenny, as well as his "favorite" niece Shannon (Sciarappa) Mitchell and her husband, Chris. He is also survived by his former wife of 19 years, Heidi Brounley, and his current fiancé, Kasey Gilbert and step-kids Jake and Brooklyn, whom he loved as his own.
David's professional journey took him from sales to brokerage to managing multiple restaurants. He was intelligent, charming, charismatic, and likeable, and he naturally captured peoples' attention. Boston and Somerville were not just where David was from—they were a part of him. He held a deep connection to the North End, his father's old neighborhood, and proudly carried those roots with him. David's strength was evident in every chapter of his life. Whether facing challenges or celebrating triumphs, he approached life with resilience and courage. He will be remembered for his humor and his fierce loyalty, especially to the people he considered family and close friends. If you were his friend, you were his friend for life.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate David's life on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Church in Somerville, his family's cherished parish.
