Christine Lyons, age 51, beloved mother of Taylor and Hailey Pefine, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, May 11. Born on July 24, 1973, in Waltham, Massachusetts, Christine was the beloved daughter of Valarie "Joanne" and Robert P. Lyons Jr. of Somerville. She was the cherished sister of Jill Lyons, Cathleen Lyons, Shaun Lyons and his better half Kristen Cascetta, and the late Robert P. Lyons III. Christine was the loving aunt of Chloe, Cameron, Hayden, Robert IV, Nicholas, Jackson, and Preston. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Christine was a lifelong Somerville resident and a proud graduate of Somerville High School, class of 1991. She spent several years as a medical assistant, where she thrived caring for others before deciding to become a stay-at-home mom. Christine had a true love for family, her daughters were her world and she did not miss an opportunity to share that. Christine always talked about how grateful she was to be raised in such a close knit family where her cousins were more like siblings, she credited that to the matriarch her Nana whom she missed terribly.

Christine's happy place was at the family home in York Beach, Maine, where she spent countless summers and celebrations alongside many family and friends.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, May 16th in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House SQ.) Somerville, from 12:00PM to 2:00PM. A prayer service will be conducted in the funeral home a 1:30PM.

Services will conclude with interment at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
