Carol L. Van Stry – Of Holbrook, formerly of Saugus and Medford, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026. She was 18 years young.

Born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Carol was the beloved daughter of Hien Truang and the late Kevin Van Stry, who passed away in 2024. She was a recent graduate of Proctor Academy in Andover, New Hampshire.

Carol was a beautiful soul with a bubbly personality, a contagious smile, and a heart that made room for everyone. She had a special gift for making friends wherever she went. When Carol met someone, she had a way of making them feel as though they had been friends for years. Her warm and welcoming nature made people feel comfortable, and her smile could brighten even the hardest of days. Bringing joy to others came naturally to her, and she had a way of turning ordinary moments into special memories.

Carol was also a talented artist who could take even the simplest drawing and turn it into a masterpiece. She enjoyed playing basketball, spending time at the gym, and boxing. When she wanted to unwind, she loved curling up on the couch with her favorite television shows, especially Adventure Time and Korean detective dramas. Whether she was being active, creating something beautiful, or relaxing at home, Carol brought her own special energy and personality to everything she did.

At just 18 years young, Carol had already touched so many lives in ways that will never be forgotten. Her laughter, her kindness, her artistic spirit, and the happiness she brought to those around her were gifts to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though her time on this earth was far too short, the love she shared and the memories she leaves behind will live on forever. Carol will be deeply missed, but her beautiful smile and the joy she brought into the world will remain in the hearts of all who loved her.

Beloved daughter of Hien Truang and the late Kevin Van Stry who passed away in 2025. Devoted brother of Daniel Van Stry, Erick Van Stry, Katherine Van Stry and the late Kevin "KJ" Van Stry, Jr. Cherished by cousin of Johnny Kelly. Loving family friend of Marie Doyle, Joe Rader, Anastasia Walker, and Kyle. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 17th in St. Raphael Church 512 High St., Medford from 9:30AM to 11:00AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated at 11:00AM.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Services will conclude with interment at Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge.
