Carl A. Cotreau – A longtime resident of Somerville, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026. He was 93 years old.

Born in Boston, Carl was the beloved son of the late Caleb and Lennie (Pothier) Cotreau.

Carl was a devoted family man who treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his sons and grandsons. Watching them grow, accomplish their goals, and become the remarkable young adults they are today brought him immeasurable pride and joy.

Carl enjoyed lots of hobbies over his life time. Playing the organ, playing solitaire, doing models, making rappie pie a Nova Scotia favorite. He definitely had a sweet tooth and never passed up a slice of blueberry pie or a gingerbread construction muffin, two of his favorite treats. Being a roller skating champion in is early years is how he met the love of his life, Barbara.

Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Barbara (Walsh) Cotreau who passed away in February of 2024. Devoted father of Ken Cotreau and his wife Kim of Beverly, the late Kevin Cotreau and his surviving wife Laura of Haverhill and the late Keith Cotreau. Cherished and loving grandfather of Ben and Patric. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A private graveside services was held where Carl was laid to rest with beloved wife at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
