Barbara (Luthern) Riley – A lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 19, 2025. She was 76 years old.

Born, raised, and educated in Somerville, she was the beloved daughter of the late George Luthern  and Thelma (Mann) Dundon and her husband Walter. Barbara enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved taking scenic car rides to nowhere in particular, simply to appreciate the beauty of the world around her.

Barbara cherished spending time with her children, especially while watching sports games together. She also found great fulfillment in her work as a Personal Care Assistant, caring for others and bringing joy to those around her.

Beloved mother of Paula Riley of Medford and Paul Riley of Cambridge. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer, Paula and Stephaine. Loving great grandmother of 3 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Mary Werner and the late Patricia Plummer. Cherished aunt of Tommy, Karen, and Sharon. She is also lovingly survived by her dear best friend Carol Tuttle and many other friends and extended family members.

A private visitation and prayer service for Barbara will take place in the funeral home.
