McDonald, Barbara E.—Of Cambridge, formerly of Somerville passed away with her family by her side April 4, 2022, at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 64.

Born Cambridge and raise in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Barbara M. (Morrow) McDonald.  Barbara was an outgoing woman who loved to have fun. She enjoyed going to the beach, having the sun on her face and her toes in the sand. If she wasn't at the beach, you could find her spending time with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and were her biggest pride and joy. Barbara loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Barbara was the beloved mother of Lauren O'Brien and her husband Shaun of Billerica. She was the devoted grandmother of Shane and Allison O'Brien, the loving sister of Mariann Janson and her husband Donald of Lynn, Elaine Noonan and her husband James of Burlington and the late James McDonald and his surviving wife Dawn of Weymouth. The cherished aunt of Katherine Bealieue, Brendan McDonald, Daniel Noonan, Patrick Noonan, Conor Janson and the godmother of Kathy Wilkinson. She is also loving survived by her fur baby and "second child" Lilly and many loving friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 262 Washington St., Somerville, Monday April 11 ^th at 11:30 AM.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Calling hours will be held Monday morning at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder Hour Sq.) from 9:00AM to 11:00 AM.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Barbara's name to St. Louis and Zellie Martin Parish, 179 Summer St., Somerville, MA 02143
