Antonino Grieco – Of Somerville, and affectionately known as Tony to many, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026. He was 80 years old.
Born in Bonito, Avellino, Italy, he was the beloved son of the late Antonio and Pasqualina (Santosusso) Grieco. Tony enjoyed a long and successful career as a foreman with Laborers Local 22. He took great pride in his work and put his skills to good use at home, where he enjoyed tinkering with anything that needed fixing. Tony had a knack for repairing things, and often his own two hands were the best tools for the job.
When he wasn’t fixing something, Tony could often be found tending to his garden, an area of great pride for him. He loved showing others the fruits of his labor and sharing the results of his hard work. Tony was an active man who enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, greeting everyone he met along the way. He also enjoyed biking and spending time outdoors hunting.
Beloved husband of 56 years to Patricia (Dell'Anno) Grieco. Devoted father of Stacey Ferreira and her husband David and Mark Grieco. Cherished grandfather of Christopher Ferreira and Benjamin Ferreira. Loving brother of Ciriaco Grieco and his wife Anna, Gerardo Grieco and his wife Donna and the late Alessandro Grieco and his wife Tina and the late Filomena and her husband Pasquale. Dear brother in-law of John Dell'Anno and his wife Terri, Robert Dell'Anno and his wife Corinne, Mima Grieco and the late Anthony Dell'Anno. Son-in-law to the late Evelyn and Anthony Dell'Anno. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral procession will be held on Thursday, October 15th from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville at 9:00AM. Followed by a funeral mass at St. Clement Church 60 Warner St. on the Somerville/Medford line at 10:00AM.
