Obituary

Burke-Schiavone, Anne – Of Medford, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 12, 2025. She was 84 years old.

Born and raised in Somerville, Anne was the beloved daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary E. (McCarthy) Quinlan. Affectionately known as "Annie," she was a vibrant spirit with a deep love for life and connection. A true social butterfly, Annie cherished time spent with her friends, Ellie, Cathy, Clarrisa and Litte Anne, whether in the lively halls of Bingo or around the table sharing stories over a delicious meal.

Annie was well known for her talent in the kitchen. A gifted baker, she delighted in preparing meals that brought comfort and joy to those around her. But above all, her greatest joy came from her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love, warmth, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Annie was known as nana to many loving children near and dearest to her heart.

Beloved wife of the late Francis Schiavone. Devoted mother of Kelliann Burke of Medford, Mariellen Burke of Medford, and William "Bill" Burke and his wife Amelyn of Virginia and loving step-mother of  step-mother of Jennifer Burke-Grehan and Douglas Burke. Cherished grandmother of Michael Montiel, Gabrielle Parilla, Elizabeth Montiel,Jake Parilla Lucy Grehan, and William Grehan and the loving great-grandmother of Rhys Pennington Taylor. Dear sister of Robert Quinlan of Maine, and the late Dorothy Chirichiello, Edward Quinlan, Jackie Quinlan and John Quinlan. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House SQ.) on Thursday, May 15th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church 512 High St., Medford at 11:30AM.
Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford
