Anna (Vaudo) Valente, 87, of Somerville passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023. She was born on May 14, 1935 in Gaeta, Italy and immigrated to America in 1956 to join her brother and sister-in-law, the late Salvatore and Anna Vaudo, in Somerville, MA. She traveled back to Gaeta to marry the love of her life, Salvatore Valente on April 22, 1961 and the two returned to begin their new life together in Somerville.

Anna was the youngest of six children born to Damiano and Maria Civita (D'Angelo) Vaudo.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, Nonni and friend to all who crossed her path; welcoming everyone into her home without hesitation and with a full plate of macaroni, fresh baked pizza, wine cookies and her famous "tiella".

Anna was a selfless, strong, caring, incredible woman with a sense of humor that is unmatched and will be truly missed by all. She devoted her life to her family; raising two sons and five grandchildren, always putting others before herself.

Anna simply enjoyed any time spent with her family and friends. She prepared Sunday dinner every week for any and all who stopped by. Anna looked forward to her weekly FaceTime and phone calls with her nieces & nephews in Italy. She enjoyed traveling with her devoted group of friends and attending banquets and dances for multiple Boston-based Italian Clubs as well as the annual feast of Saints Cosma & Damian.

Anna is survived by her devoted husband Salvatore; her loving sons, Danny and wife, Paula of Malden; Anthony and partner, Tanya Glidden of Danvers; her adoring grandchildren, Cristina and husband, Matthew, Elyse, Daniel, Gabriella and Olivia.

She was the sister of the late Salvatore, Antonio, Pasquale, Maria and Giovanni and is survived by several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, Thursday, March 16th 4:00PM ~ 7:00PM. Relatives and friends invited to attend.

Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross, Chapel Hill, Mausoleum in Malden.
