Life Legacy
Elise M. (Lane) Welch --85, A 63-year resident of Somerville died after a short illness on September 9, 2011.
Elise was the beloved wife of James F. Welch Jr. and the loving and devoted mother to John S. Welch and his wife Joyce (Hamwey) of Melrose, Elise (Larner) Hills and her husband Geoffrey of Boston, Denise M. Williams of Somerville , Audrey L. Harvey and her husband Robert of Charlotte, NC and the late James F. Welch III. She was also the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Elise's Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, on Tuesday September 13, 2011 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) in Somerville on Monday, September 12, from 4-8 p.m. A private burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery, Bourne, MA at a later date.
Prior to her retirement, Elise worked as a secretary. After graduating from high school, she attended Boston Secretarial School.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Elise's memory to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142
